Chinese Weekend...

only because after our Friday night at a Chinese restaurant

we ended up eating at the BEST Chinese restaurant in Utah on Saturday night

The food was spectacular! This restaurant is Chandler and Whitney's favorite, and the reason we went to eat there. So thanks you two!

My parents were there as well and we all had a great time visiting and eating until we were sick! Afterwards, Whit and Chandler came over and we all went to Win-Co to get some late night snacks (like we needed more food!). We also went to see the 'Halloween Display' that we enjoy every year (more on that later).

Sunday was typical. Brooklyn did well during sacrament meeting and even got to go to Priesthood with her daddy. What a lucky girl! That evening we went to a family dinner at James' grandparents' home. Again, there was lots of eating and visiting. Brooklyn got passed around as usual and behaved herself pretty well.

Our weekend was great and we are so much enjoying the stage Brooklyn is in right now. In fact, she laughed for the first time Sunday afternoon. It melted our hearts! James had her propped up on our leather chair and started dancing and jumping around in front of her. She got the biggest kick out of it and just kept laughing. Oh my gosh. I could hardly stand how cute it was. James was dripping with sweat by the time it was all over, but we both couldn't get over how much we loved watching our daughter laugh. What a simple and very precious moment that we will never forget.

Friday Night

I am definitely a fan of Groupon. Last night we used one for Red Maple Chinese, along with half the other people there at the restaurant. We even ran into some cousins. Dayton cousins. We give the place 2 thumbs up. Mmm it was good!

The atmosphere was good and everyone was super friendly. Brooklyn and her daddy had a little bonding time while we waited for our food.

The food was awesome! It tasted good and there was a lot of it! We definitely recommend this place. There was even a stage set up at the front of the restaurant, but we weren't lucky enough to see a band or enjoy any sort of entertainment. Maybe next time!

(and this was just MY food)

After dinner we went to pick out our pumpkins at The Great Pumpkin Patch, a quaint little place on Redwood.

They had a great selection of pumpkins. The prices were written on the bottom of each and that definitely helped decide our pumpkin fate. What was even better were the cute red wagons filled with hay to help you with all your pumpkin decisions. We were very happy with our purchase.

Brooklyn loved the pumpkin patch. There was so much for her to look at in every direction.

There was even a hint of scary!

The air was crisp but still warm enough to not need a jacket. We walked around for awhile and just enjoyed the fall atmosphere.

Brooklyn was good all night. She slept at the restaurant while we ate and then she was quite content at the pumpkin patch to just look around and be snuggled.

We can't wait for FHE on Monday so we can carve our little beauties up and eat some yummy doughnuts.

Hooray for nights like these!

Blue Lemon

Friday night we headed downtown to a place James and I have been wanting to try.

We invited Jeremy and Chels along and we met at the restaurant.

It did NOT disappoint!

The food was awesome, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun!

I loved the lighting and the dishes our food was served on. The place has a classy, fun feel and I would definitely recommend it.

WHO ordered WHAT?
Can you match the orderer with their order?

diNnEr aT tHe rEd iGuAnA!

last weekend, james & i met up with some GREAT people to feast at the red iguana.

if you've never been there, go.

camille & dave went over an hour earlier to get us a spot on the 'list'.

boy were we grateful.

the rest of us showed up around 7, and we were seated at 7:30.

what a fun atmosphere!

we were seated near bright green walls, and our tables were adorned with very colorful floral print tablecloths.

the food was soooo goood!

james & i shared shrimp tacos as our appetizer and then chimichangas for our entree.

we were stuffed!

but...

i wanted fried ice cream.

yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was a super eating experience overall. not to mention the company was great!

afterward, my cousin's and their hubbys came over to see our place and of course, to visit for awhile. i love those guys!

enjoy some pics from our evening!
