october at our house...

we tried our hands at candied apples and while it was easy, fun, and made our house smell delicious...those things are impossible to eat! like rip your teeth out impossible. brooklyn and kendall loved them though and were able to eat some after we cut a few up into smaller pieces. mostly, they're beautiful to look at!

we have great 'fall trees' in our front and back yards. i love being able to see all the colors through almost every window in my house!

(you've seen these slippers at wal-mart. don't dog them. best $5 i've spent in awhile!)

we are halloween book hoarders! we love them and my girls love to sit down and look at these over and over again.

however, these have been the favorites this year. i love to watch the top 5 change over the years!

every year i end up fondly calling my front porch, the pumpkin porch, and this year it's more true than ever. but i love it! we'll carve some and then have plenty to stick around during november!

this year i got to add these darling little vintage pillows james' grandma made years ago. my girls love them!

and if you haven't hopped on the cinnamon broom train yet...do it! it makes our porch smell so homey and like the fun seasons of the year, i'm tempted to buy 10 and leave them up all year round!

Summer Chores

(new photo gallery in my parents' den)

Oh what do you do in the summertime when all the world is green?

If you didn't learn that song in primary, you should. It's been in my head all day!

What did I accomplish yesterday in my new career?

- read my scriptures
-baked some bread
-ran errands (got the mattress pad and oatmeal-2 very important items)
-cleaned the kitchen (minus mopping the floor)
-did inventory of all the baby's clothes
-washed all of it
-got the mattress pad and sheet on the mattress and moved into the crib
-went swimming with the YW
-ran more errands with my husband
-and kissed him goodnight as he headed off to clean the temple and I headed to bed

I'm liking my new career. I'm getting a lot done, it wears me out, and I sleep a little better at night knowing that things are moving forward before the baby comes.

Lots more to do today, including meeting my husband for lunch.
