The Pantry

This week James took on the chore of organizing our pantry. I didn't even ask him to! I'm tellin' ya, this boy likes things organized!

We don't have a big pantry by any means, but as with any space, it can get cluttered and chaotic.

He did this while I sat on the couch like a beached whale and directed whether or not to keep something, or where it would be most convenient for me.

(in the process)

He's an all-star!

Black Beans

These little bad boys graced our dinner plates,

(Black Bean Enchiladas - recipe here. I used no meat. )

along with a green salad

cottage cheese & mandarin oranges

and some lemonade (i'm addicted right now).

Good and filling. We used the energy and nourishment to organize some more. We have a lot of crap stuff. James started organizing our storage room and office Saturday morning and by early evening, we had mounds and piles all over the place. It was a lot. But I am grateful for a husband who likes to organize and is willing to head up big projects like that.

We still have a lot to do before b a b y gets here.
So until then, we'll keep eating lots of black beans and stuff to give us organizing/cleaning ENERGY.

Right now James is off using more energy playing some ball. Hopefully he doesn't come home with more battle wounds like this one:

Me?

I'm going to bed.

Organizing Day 3!

My kitchen cupboards...

I don't have a ton of cupboard space so I always feel like everything is cluttered.
While organizing, I was able to get rid of A LOT of stuff!

This helped immensely!

It took me a lot longer than I had planned, but SO worth it!

I've already gone and opened my cupboards five two times just to look at my proud work.

Here are the before and after pictures:

Other things accomplished: blankets washed, inside of microwave CLEANED OUT, handle of the fridge wiped down (that is one of my biggest pet peeves = a dirty fridge handle), bills paid, new debit card activated, dinner rising (rolls=scones), and not to mention I showered and got completely ready for the day.

More organizing

Day 2: Bathroom drawers (my drawers)

These are the hardest drawers for me to keep clean and organized. I just end up throwing stuff around and then things get pushed to the back that I don't see again for a year! So... I took everything out, got rid of the stuff that I either haven't used in a year or won't use any time soon. (it's hard for me to get rid of stuff!)

I don't have any before pictures because it was E M B A R R A S S I N G! So you won't appreciate what I've done here, but let me tell ya...

it looks W A Y better!

(this is organized into lotions, perfumes, hair products, etc)

(my pride and joy! I got rid of 80% of what was in here...sad I know)

Organizing is liberating!

*tip: I have a friend who is a hair stylist & she has advised me NOT to wind or coil the cords of my flat iron, blow dryer, etc. It makes it short out.

Organizing!

I'm off track this week so I've had lots of time to get things done that I have been dying to do since Christmas!

Day 1 of my organizing: top of my chest of drawers & jewelry

and...

the finished product!

It might look cluttered to someone else...

but boy, I got rid of a TON of jewelry! I still have a ton, but I like it on the tree so that I can see what I have and use it more efficiently! :)
