memorial day 2014

our memorial day was nice.

brooklyn enjoyed some pool time while james and i tackled a to-do list. i definitely think she got the better end of the deal.

evening came, and we had a little bbq. some of my family came, jeremy and chels, and it was nice and relaxing. we had plenty of food to keep us busy.

there was chatting, eating, trampoline activities, darts, brooklyn was in and out of the pool, s'mores making, laughing, and all that other fun stuff. definitely a great way to kick off the summer!

i am so grateful to be an american and even more grateful for those who have made it possible. memorial day is always a great day to remember those loved ones that we cherish and miss. grandma jackie was definitely in the forefront of my mind all day. i purposely tried to only think about happy memories without adding in any of the ones that make me sad. i miss her like crazy, and i am so happy that i have so many memories about her to make me smile and even laugh out loud a little.

and folks, we are down to the 20's on our baby countdown. we are so excited, a little tired, and a lot of anxious!
