day two.

day two of 'project nursery week' was all about the cleaning. i wiped down walls and baseboards, swept, mopped, cleaned off the chalkboard, and wiped down all the furniture. gosh it felt good. the trick now will be to keep the new nursery tenant's big sister's messes in there to a minimum.

also, that big sister's clothes and drawers are patiently waiting to be organized now that all of her things are now out of the nursery. 'project nursery' will definitely have to extend into brooklyn's room this week because i can't handle the mess in her room.

so, now that all the dirty work in the nursery is done, i get to do the fun part (or rather the part that gives me a tad of anxiety) and decorate. now, i really already have the room basically like i want it, there's just a few little details that need to be taken care of.

brooklyn got to have both mommy and daddy at the library with her tonight. she loved it.

coral swim suits for the girls (plural is still cra-zeee to think about) to wear in hawaii later this year. you can't tell in this picture, but they are really both really cute colors of coral.

brooklyn loves all the tiny baby things as much as i do. she loves to hold them and say, "oooh, so cute!" i love it. she doesn't like being kicked out of the nursery and that breaks my heart a little bit. i told her that she can't be in there this week while i'm getting it ready, but that after that, she and i can go in there and play whenever she wants. she's not super understanding of that, but hopefully i can make it up to her.

she's just growing up so fast. james and i are constantly amazed at the things that come out of her mouth. oh that girl. one of my favorites recently was one morning when she came to get in bed with me after james had left for work, she cuddled up to me and i was breathing on the back of her head and she said, "i don't like that mom." i asked her what she was talking about and she said, "that heater in your mouth." i died laughing. oh that funny girl. she's also recently learned the sounds of the letters in the alphabet and loves to tell them to me all day long. pointing to random letters, she'll ask me what they say, like she's quizzing me. she loves to think she's the one in charge. such a boss. apparently she comes by it honestly.
