some rub and more fluff.

last night for dinner i tried a new recipe out of one of my favorite cookbooks. this recipe had always intimidated me because it's called spicy honey chicken, and i'm a wuss when it comes to heat. like a real wuss. but when i was menu planning on monday, this recipe really stood out and it sounded so good. so i went for it. and...

loved it.

the rub (for the chicken) is so so good. mix it with the honey glaze and my goodness that's some good tasting chicken. james was even kind enough to grill it for us. that took it up to another level. anything grilled tastes amazing (and like summer).

brooklyn isn't a huge meat eater, so she just enjoyed the carrots and rice.

on a totally different note, brooklyn and i were both giddy with the warmth outside. it really was soo warm. in the 50's?! we'll take it. so we spent quite a bit of time outside. she was so happy to be on the tramp and wearing her purple fluffy outfit (yet again). i whipped out my camera (phone) and she entertained. she's such a goof ball and i feel like the pictures on the blog really don't showcase that. but boy oh boy did i get her personality in full force with these bad boys. how could she not be a goof ball though with james as her dad and my dad as her grandpa? it was bound to happen. so, enjoy these pictures of her dancing, singing, and just being her totally goofy self. these are gems.

(singing a really dramatic song here)

so grateful to be her mom.
