conference weekend. so good for the soul! if it's possible, i look forward to the conference weekends more and more every time. i love and need it so much. doing the 40 day conference challenge for the second time also had me anticipating it more. i loved reading the talks and and thinking of questions and concerns for this most recent conference.
i finished the challenge the night before. i can't wait to do it again!
friday night we went down to orem to support kayla at her senior project night. it was so fun to see her work in action. she's talented and my girls just love her!
saturday morning, james willingly got up early to hit up a meat sale we've been going to for a couple years now (thanks again darc!) to stock up on hamburger, chicken, and steak. it's so nice that it's always during conference weekend because we can separate and package it all up while we listen to talks.
then it was time hunker down, snack, and enjoy conference.
an awesome lady in our last ward always has great ideas for anything church related, and she posted these pictures of the first presidency and the quorum of the twelve that i knew i had to have! i hung them up so that brooklyn can start putting names to faces. she seriously loved it and was pretty proud of herself to have the whole first presidency down by sunday afternoon. kendall mostly just knows president monson still, but that's ok.
between sessions, chels and i went to lunch at my very favorite spot in bountiful, plates and palates. i'm serious, if you've never been, get yourself down to bountiful and experience the lunch of a lifetime. i find myself ordering the same thing over and over because i just can't help myself. we had a nice time eating and chatting (childless) and just enjoying ourselves.
after the second session, the guys went to priesthood session, and we all met up at the park to enjoy the sunshine. tori and haley joined us and the kids loved having two extra aunts around to play with. we picked up some pizza for dinner and the guys met us back at home.
between sessions on sunday, the girls wanted to swing. we lucked out with such good weather that weekend and they were in heaven!
after conference was all said and done, we hosted dinner at our house and enjoyed a nice meal outside.
it had us all thirsty for summer and we can't wait to do more outdoor dinners!
for dessert, we did one of my favorites: chocolate chip cookies in ramekins with vanilla ice cream on top. soooo good! and they totally hit the spot!
i am so grateful for weekends like this that rejuvenate and inspire me. i always walk away from conference weekend with a renewed energy to do better and be better. i want to be a better mom, wife, young women's secretary, and all around better daughter of God. the little reminders can't come to me enough. i have a lot of improving to do. counting down the months until october conference. and i really can't believe that at that point we'll have three little girls to enjoy it with. three!!!
