a little trip.

thursday started off with a slow morning,

some chocolate zucchini bread (from here of course),

and then lots of doing doing doing.

we had plans at the end of our day and there was a lot to accomplish before four o'clock. at which point, brooklyn was, as-kindly-as-possible, awoken from her naply slumber and we were on our way south.

first stop, the u, to pick up aunt chelsea.

so we found some shade while we waited, and brooklyn posed.

then we were on our way to utah county. brooklyn was going to spend the evening with her second cousins, swimming, eating pizza, and all that jazz. chelsea and i were off to a blogger's round table to learn, discuss, meet new people, and eat.

i definitely think it's safe to say that brooklyn had a more than enjoyable time. thanks reynolds clan! chelsea and i had a great time talking blogs and mostly, just getting to know some cool chicas.

so that was all fun and games, but the trip home was not so pleasant. brooklyn was exhausted from all the fun she had and just could not get comfortable in her car seat. she whined and cried and chelsea did what she could from the front seat to reassure her and make her happy. we both had dying cell phones that were alternately charged while brooklyn viewed little mermaid clips on the other. it worked for a little while. then we dropped chelsea off...

sad little toddler.

i tried to comfort her and rub her foot until my arm went numb and felt like it would fall off, and then i pretty much gave up. it gets better... we were less than a mile from home and we got stopped by a train. a train that was traveling at speeds i can run faster than, and that's not very fast. we sat there in the car, miserable and tired, for over ten minutes. not cool.

we finally made it home to our husband and daddy and then promptly went to bed.

but not before i received some pictures of the happenings at the swim party brooklyn got to attend while i was away (thanks again manda).

enjoy,

and
