our weekend was nice. really nice. we spent time in coalville to watch haley in hairspray. great production! cute cute. grandpa babysat brooklyn. she enjoyed herself very much. we all got to bed at a reasonable hour and woke up to sourdough pancakes and bacon. best saturday breakfast.
we took our time getting ready and packing up and heading out the door. james and i were anxious to get back home to get a few more things done in our house. we each chose two tasks to accomplish and then rewarded ourselves with dinner at burrito grande, with jeremy and chelsea of course. brooklyn stayed entertained through dinner with chelsea's ipad. bless that thing. and we all enjoyed our food. we stopped for a few sunday essentials on our way home and then the boys headed off to play a little b-ball. chels, brooklyn, and i watched friends, new girl, and just chatted. it was a late night and thank heavens for eleven o'clock church the next day.
since brooklyn turned 18 months old on saturday, we got to try her out in nursery. she went right in, no problem, and sat down to do her valentine craft next to another cute little nursery goer. james went off to sunday school and i to the primary room just happy that she didn't cry or throw a fit. twenty minutes later, the nursery leader comes into the back of the primary room with sobbing brooklyn in her arms. broke my heart. i rushed to her and took her out into the hallway. she clung to me. she was a tad traumatized darn it. she wouldn't even let me pass her off to james a few minutes later. it definitely took some convincing. hopefully next week will be better.
we came out of church to falling snow and about three inches already on the ground. it really was beautiful. we hurried home, changed out of our church clothes, and dished up our roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions and had a cozy sunday afternoon dinner. this was followed by a glorious nap for brooklyn and i. much needed after the late saturday night. after naps, brooklyn and i snacked on whole wheat waffles and cookie butter. a new favorite!
james shoveled the driveway while brooklyn and i waited inside in our warm pajamas, we discussed our plans for valentine's day, and laid low the rest of the evening. just how sunday evenings should be. we are rested, rejuvenated, and ready for a new week. james will have thursday off because he has to work saturday (boo), so we're hoping to do some fun things (with a few more things being done in the house).
