Bloomin

James and I had the best day yesterday. Really. We did.

We slept in a little, and then we made breakfast together: hashbrowns, wink eyes, bacon, juice, the works!

After cleaning up and getting ready for the day, we were off to Thanksgiving Point to see the Tulip Festival. Because I'm a teacher, I get in free + plus one other person. So we paid NOTHIN! Otherwise, it would have been $20.

(this picture doesn't do it justice)

There were sooo many flowers, trees, and all sorts of landscapes to enjoy. We loved it! Our favorite was probably the man made waterfalls. Neither of us had ever seen them before so we were pretty impressed.

While we were making our way back to the trail, we smelled something delicious! Homemade doughnuts... um, yes please! So we hiked up to the vendors and got us a bag, yes a bag, of mini doughnuts. Boy were they fabulous! Oh my goodness! Hot, fresh, and melt in your mouth. Mmm!

We sat in front of the waterfalls and indulged. After about 15 minutes we headed out. But not before I could show James my knowledge of the solar system. He was impressed I knew the order of the planets from the sun. Heck ya!

This kind of tree was our favorite: the Camperdown Elm. We only saw a few on our tour of the gardens. They were so whimsical. That's the best way to describe them.

IKEA and Sweet Tomatoes were our next stops and then we went home and passed out for an hour. Lots of walking!

Such a good day.
