first off, we had to do santa pictures this year with rosie. she HAD to be in them. so, in october, i scheduled the pictures for rosie to be a whole week and a day old. it was the best experience we've had yet, we were in and out, and these pictures are some that i will treasure forever. i cried when i saw them for the first time.
while rosie and i sat out in the van nice and cozy, james took the big sisters into see our favorite santa and mrs. clause. apparently adi had santa rolling with some things she said and the girls were so happy to get to tell him their list.
my friend natalie brought us dinner after rosie was born and also came bearing gifts. she gave all of us girls matching aprons, christmas cookie cutters, and a holiday dress for rosie girl. i couldn't wait to put her in it, so christmas sunday was the day. i love buffalo plaid and this dress is just darling.
i love having girls to dress up on christmas sunday. the dresses are from my mom and they were nice, soft, and cozy this year. my girls love them.
the nativity in front of the tabernacle is always a favorite. the girls talked james into a little photo shoot after church that day.
since rosie and i still aren't back to church (winter = germs/flu/the plague), i've been going to take the sacrament at other wards while james stays home with the girls. brooklyn came with me this sunday and we had to document it.
that night, we got the girls in their matching christmas pj's and watched polar express all together in mom and dad's bed.
the annual petersen christmas party! my girls look forward to this almost as much as they do christmas day. they love being with cousins, swimming at the hotel, breakfast at the hotel the next morning, and being with cousins... did i already say that? james and i took turns staying back at my parents' with the baby so i didn't get very many pictures darn it.
on christmas eve, rosie and i had the whole house to ourselves (my parents' house), and it was so nice and peaceful and just so fun to just sit and enjoy this baby without interruption. it was one of my favorite moments with her so far and i'll never forget it.
whit's kids hadn't met rosie yet, so they came a little later to meet her. hallie was so dang cute with her! they are going to be best friends these little november girls, almost one year apart exactly!
that whole day was very chill and laid back. some took naps. some of us didn't. and at the end of the evening, there was the fun cousin gift exchange, sibling gift exchange, and the opening of the matching pj's. we all love these traditions!
we stayed at my parents' until way late because we were watching the byu bowl game (the outcome was not as james had hoped) so we got home way late and after the kids were in bed, we stayed up way late watching white christmas and wrapping last minute gifts. just two tired parents surviving the twelfth hour and super excited for christmas morning!
