the day after the 4th was the beginning of our ruesch reunion. we hit up lagoon and the kids had a blast riding rides together. we must have been having fun because this is the only picture that got taken!
saturday was the actual reunion and everyone gathered at my in laws house. my in laws have worked sun up to sun down to prepare their yard and covered patio for this occasion. lots and lots of work for this! we enjoyed lunch, everyone visited with each other, the kids played on the swing set/tramp/and ran through the sprinklers. we had a family history activity and did some more eating and chatting. brooklyn was in heaven playing card games with the older cousins and my younger two loved playing with all the cousins or following their nana around.
it was great to see everyone and catch up!
and adi jac loves her little liam. she thinks he's her baby and poor boy has to put up with a lot of mauling from her.
the following week was the girl cousin sleepover at my parents' house. they had a tea party, did nails, went to a movie, and just overall loved getting to stay over at grandma diane's for two nights.
i missed them terribly and told them next year they only get to stay one night. they're hoping i'll forget i said that.
we picked up some lunch and headed to the splash pad. we almost had the place to ourselves and that water was so refreshing on a scorching day!
the next night we met up at our good friends/old neighbors, the gasu's, for a little BBQ before the clinton days fireworks. it's always a treat to see them and my girls love playing with their boys. jeremy and chelsea and crew, and gary & lisa, and aunt pam joined us as well. we had tons of good food, enjoyed visiting together, and then headed over to the park for the fireworks. it's so fun watching brooklyn and shane reconnect every time we see each other. they are such good little buddies and play so well together!
church this summer has been rough on our little nursery goer. one oclock and her naps just don't work.
we celebrated judson's birthday with all the cousins at the 'pirate ship pool'. they had so much fun together and judson loved being sung to in the van on the way home!
brooklyn made a countdown chain for the new hotel transylvania movie and as soon as we could, we went to see it. we invited cousins and they loved giggling together the whole way through it. adi, was naughty...she will not be going to night time movies for awhile from here on out. we've been blasting the soundtrack ever since.
we love to watch the days of '47 parade on the 24th so this year when i found out we could go check out all the floats (fo free) beforehand, i was pumped! we met james there and checked it out. my girls were amazed seeing the floats up close. it was a total hit, all except for the 'scary guy' as he's now known in our house, that was on top of one of the floats. adi and keni were dealthy afraid of him. it was kinda funny and kinda sad.
