i sound like a broken record, but the 4th is one of my very favorite holidays! i love it so much! it's such a fun and exhausting week that will always have my heart!
the 3rd brings the north salt lake fireworks and BBQ at my friend's parents' house with our friends. it's really the best and my girls have such a blast!
this year as we walked up to the fireworks, all the kids walked together right in front of us and first of all, it was shocking to see how many kids we have altogether, but secondly, it was so fun to see them skipping along, chatting and just making great childhood summer memories!
the next morning was our neighborhood breakfast. we love this! the backdrop is picturesque for a 4th of july breakfast and it's such a great patriotic way to start off our day.
i'm dressed in workout gear because chelsea and i went straight from the breakfast to a hard core cross training workout. another great way to start off the day!
then we hit up swig, because it's tradition, and grabbed some tacos to take home to share with our hubbies. and don't worry, the guy at taco bell made sure i had 57 mild sauce packets. i did not order that. he felt it necessary for four tacos i guess.
then we sat in the shade and watched the kids enjoy some pool/tramp/painting birdhouses time.
after the kids started to get tired, we went our separate ways for naps and baths. but in the midst of our relaxing, i found out that our beloved kaysville fireworks had moved locations and we didn't have a clue what to expect. so chelsea and i hauled our bums to kaysville as fast as we could to set out blankets and crossed our fingers all would go well.
then we met up again at our house for a BBQ.
the spot we picked worked out for the best...we had the best seats for the firework show and we can't wait for next year! while we waited for fireworks, the kids and the daddies went to some bounce houses, the mamas stayed back to chat, and then we all hunkered down with some fun party poppers my mother in law brought and then watched the fireworks.
such a fun holiday!!!
