what a special day...
i was emotional and busy all day getting things ready for the luncheon at our house after the baptism. it was really nice to all sit together as a family, pray together, and then head to the tabernacle. brooklyn was beaming and so excited!
her confirmation was beautiful and james did such a good job. there was so much love and support in the room that i honestly didn't stop crying the entire time. it really was so special!
we fed everyone little sandwiches, pasta, fruit, chips and sherbet + sprite for dessert.
brooklyn was surrounded by so many that love her and she told me that she felt special all day and that she never wanted it to end. we had everyone mark their favorite scripture in her new scriptures and that will be something for her to cherish all her life.
these cute friends came by and brought her the most amazing gift (i want it for myself) of a journal/scripture book and a necklace. so thoughtful!
that evening, she got to wear her white dress to the reception of one of my young women, Aubrey Seljaas, who brought brooklyn such a sweet gift two nights before her baptism. she included a hand written card and i hope brooklyn realizes how special that is! She asked brooklyn to wear her dress to her reception so they could get a picture together in their white dresses. so thoughtful!
brooklyn's cute friend mandalen, who she got baptized with, was also at the reception, so luckily we got a picture of them together as well!
i'm so proud of brooklyn for making the decision to be baptized. she has been counting down for this special day for months. she also didn't hesitate to fast and bare her testimony in testimony meeting the next day. i was beaming with pride! i hope she knows how amazing she is and that she never changes!
