conference weekeeeeeeeeeend! i just love it and look forward to it so much! my brain, heart, and soul need it desperately and this conference delivered.
we started it out by grabbing some free pumpkins down the street and the girls were thrilled to be out in the sunshine, and loved looking at all the different pumpkins.
that night we hit up lagoon for again for the trick-or-treating and most especially the train because adi asked all week when she could go ride the train. the weather was nice and we had so much fun together.
we met up with james back home, ate some pizza, and then went over to his parents' to watch the byu/utah state game. i won't say anymore about the game other than, GO AGGIES!
the next morning, james took the girls to grab donuts while i ran to the semi-annual meat sale and the gym. i listened to the first two talks on my way home and knew this conference was going to bring a lot of change! so exciting! i got home and snuggled my family on the couch and listened to the rest of the session.
between sessions, we cleaned up the house and got ready to head over to my in laws' for the second session. adi luckily fell asleep and the older two sat and colored through most of the two hours. it was so nice to sit and enjoy the talks!
kendall has really gotten into coloring and drawing people (and ghosts) and conference weekend was one of the first times she did this. i loved it! i kept telling her how proud of her i was that she drew it and she was just beaming.
my mother in law prepared a delicious dinner for us all to sit down and eat together. another perk of conference! we ate and then headed off to the women's conference.
the womens' session was my favorite! so many gems and so much good came from that conference. i loved the challenges from president nelson and left feeling so motivated and uplifted! we stopped for cookies at crumbl to top it all off and i went to bed that night so excited for the last two sessions.
we got up early, got ready, and then headed up the mountain to my parents'. we enjoyed butterscotch rolls during the first session and then set up our lunch 'super bowl' style to eat in between sessions and during the second. the kids loved being together and the adults were happy to eat, listen (or try to), and visit together.
i'm so grateful for this weekend that we get two times a year! i need it so much as a mother and wife and i'm always excited to hear from our prophet and other church leaders. my testimony is always strengthened and i feel positive about how i can help my family better ourselves as disciples of Christ.
